Yohei Oda is a Tokyo-based attorney providing legal assistance to foreign nationals, international clients, and overseas businesses in Japan.Legal problems can be particularly difficult when they arise in a foreign country. Experience with International Clients

Mr. Oda has more than ten years of experience as a Japanese attorney and has represented clients from many different countries.After beginning his career at a law firm in Tokyo, he joined the Foreign Nationals and International Service Section of the Tokyo Public Law Office, where he represented foreign nationals and handled legal matters in English and Spanish.Since November 2020, he has practiced at Hiroo Park Law Firm, where he continues to represent foreign and international clients in a wide range of legal matters.Mr. Oda regularly handles cases involving international and cross-border issues and, where appropriate, works with embassies, overseas lawyers, and other professionals.His approach is to provide not only legal advice, but also a clear and practical explanation of how the Japanese legal system works, what options are available, and what steps should be taken.

 

Background

Mr. Oda graduated from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, where he majored in Spanish, and subsequently graduated from Kanto Gakuin University Law School. He was admitted to the Japanese bar in December 2014.He has written articles on Japanese law for publications serving international communities in Japan, including The Japan Times, Mercado Latino, and Kyodai.He has also conducted seminars in English and Spanish for embassy staff on the Japanese legal system and criminal proceedings in Japan.Mr. Oda is a member of the Foreign Residents Subcommittee of the Legal Service Joint Center of the Tokyo Bar Association and is involved in providing legal support to foreign residents in Japan.
